Focus and Scope

Encyclopaideia is an international peer reviewed journal, founded in 1996 at the University of Bologna by Piero Bertolini. It publishes 3 issues per year. According the phenomenological tradition of openness Encyclopaideia welcomes articles that come from a wide range of areas of education research and related disciplines.
Encyclopaideia publishes original empirical and theoretical studies and analyses in a broad significance to education research to solicit a critical debate from a multidisciplinary point of view.

We seek significant contributions that advance the theoretical understandings of the social and institutional contexts of education, the critical analysis of ethical and political issues in education, or the methodological reflection on educational research. Brief reports of studies to address a narrow question are not appropriate for submission.

We welcome manuscripts in the following areas: theory of education, educational policy, qualitative research reports. We also welcome critical reviews and commentaries addressing conceptual, theoretical, methodological, issues pertaining to qualitative research.
While the philosophical tradition of European phenomenology remains the broad theoretical framework of this journal, no specific methodology or philosophical orientation is required in submissions.

Keywords: phenomenological education; phenomenology; education theory; research methods in education; education policy
