Quando le scuole silenziano la diversità: l’interazione tra othering, diversità e school belonging

Abstract

Le politiche nazionaliste e neoliberali limitano l’inclusione e marginalizzano la diversità in molti contesti educativi, minando gli obiettivi democratici dell’istruzione. Sulla base di queste premesse, questo contributo inquadra la diversità come una lente critica attraverso la quale osservare la (ri)produzione di pratiche di inclusione ed esclusione scolastica e ripensare il ruolo della scuola come spazio democratico ed emancipatorio. A questo proposito, ci concentreremo sulla complessa interazione tra diversità, othering e appartenenza scolastica per osservare come le dinamiche di inclusione ed esclusione si sviluppano in classe. Sulla base di questi quadri teorici, proponiamo una problematizzazione della nozione di “appartenenza scolastica”, al fine di individuare nuove traiettorie che possano ricollocare la diversità al centro dei processi di inclusione.
